Two people were arrested Wednesday following a robbery at a Rocky Mount branch of Southern Bank.
Rocky Mount police responded to an alarm at 9:28 a.m. at the bank on 107 South Fairview Road. A woman entered the bank and demanded money from one of the tellers at gunpoint, police said. After the teller gave the money to the woman, police said the robber fled the bank on foot. A suspect was apprehended later near Glendale Avenue.
A second person believed to be connected with the robbery was seen with the main suspect and also was arrested. Police charged Renee Darnise Diggs, 43, of Rocky Mount; and Jaquil Daishawn Davis, 23, also of Rocky Mount; with one count each of common law robbery.
N.C. Department of Public Safety records show no previous convictions for either suspect. State court records on Wednesday did not show the date for either suspect’s first court appearance.
